The
Stripey Room
An example of
a truly original name for a room, no?
But you know how these things are; we kept importing various
striped things into the room -- the tiles in the bathroom
(not shown but v. pretty and go well with the Matisse that’s
in there) and then the bedlinen, and then the curtains, and
we kept referring to it, in shorthand, as the Stripey Room
until it just stuck.
You should hear it pronounced in Spanish.
It’s situated right next to the larger of our two sun terraces,
on the first floor (European, that is -- one flight up), and
has a view over both the terrace and Nicholas’s garden, Nicholas
being our next door neighbour whose family has been in that
big pink house of his since the 13th century.
A smallish room, but exceedingly cheerful.
